Today we had an opportunity to hear interesting facts about a country that is so close, yet it looks far away. We talked about Iraq, a country where old Mesopotamian civilisation started, a country that has one of the oldest board games in the world, and a country that had the oldest epic poem in the world. Did you know that between Croatia and Iraq there are only three countries (Serbia, Bulgaria and Tűrkiye). We also learned some Kurdish and Arabic words and realised that some Kurdish words are so similar to Croatian! The students were so interested and had a lot of questions that our host Nawar answered in both English and Croatian.
