Visit to the Archaeological Museum

In connection with our unit of inquiry into Where We Are In Place and Time, recently we visited the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb.

Our inquiry into past civilizations and their impact on today led us to see the collection of world civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome. One of the highlights of the display was the famous Egyptian mummy, also known as ''Zagreb Mummy''. It is well-known for the bands it was wrapped in, which contained the longest preserved text known in the Etruscan language. The text is still not deciphered.

We rounded our visit with a workshop offered by the museum in which we learned about the Egyptian artists and tried to become artist ourselves by drawing the antiquities on the display.

As you can see from the photos below, it was a lovely visit.
