An educational and interactive presentation "Respect Our Signs"

An educational and interactive presentation

As part of the traffic safety program, our first graders and PYP 0 students were visited by a police officer who gave an educational and interactive presentation titled "Respect Our Signs."

The goal of the activity was to familiarize students with basic traffic rules and the importance of safe behavior in traffic. Through conversation and real-life examples, the children learned how important it is to be careful and responsible participants in traffic.

The first graders reviewed how to properly cross the street at a pedestrian crossing, discussed the meaning of traffic lights, and why they must always wait for the green light — even when they are in a hurry.

Special emphasis was placed on cyclist behavior: always wearing a protective helmet, getting off the bike when crossing the street, and riding on marked bike lanes accompanied by a parent. The students also talked about which rules should be followed when riding in a car with their parents and why it is important to always wear a seat belt.

The police officer also drew the children’s attention to the dangers of playing near roads, especially in parks close to traffic areas.

The children participated with great interest, asked questions, and shared their everyday experiences from their way to and from school. The atmosphere was cheerful, and the first graders showed that they understand very well how important it is to keep themselves and others safe in traffic.

We thank the police officers for their cooperation, effort, and care for the safety of our children.
