Students Explore Šibenik and the Dalmatian Islands
Our PYP3 students enjoyed an exciting four-day educational field trip to Rovinj and the Istrian Peninsula, from 12th to 15th of May. Staying at Maistra Select Family Hotel Amarin, students combined learning, exploration, sports, and fun while creating lasting memories together.
The trip began with a walk through the beautiful old town of Rovinj after arriving and settling into the hotel. Students also enjoyed swimming and spending time together at the resort.
One of the highlights of the trip was the visit to Cape Kamenjak, where students participated in an engaging “Dinosaurs” workshop. They learned about the origin of Earth, geological periods, dinosaurs, and prehistoric life through activities adapted for primary school learners.
Students also explored a cave and exhibition focused on geology, underground animals, and traces of early humans in Istria. Alongside the educational programme, there was plenty of time for sports activities, games, swimming, and evening entertainment.
On the final day, students visited the House of the Halubje Bell Ringers in Viškovo, where they learned about an important part of Croatian cultural heritage before returning to Zagreb.
The field trip offered students valuable opportunities for inquiry, teamwork, and experiential learning outside the classroom while strengthening friendships and independence.
