Sweet, Sweeter, the Sweetest!
It wasn’t just an ordinary day. It was a beautiful and sweet day.
We had a rendezvous that day in a nearby patisserie, “Jolie Petite”. A rendezvous with the sweetest cakes ever! We were so excited!
When we got there, we had a little tour around the patisserie. The cooks were really kind and patient, and answered all our questions.
Do you need to go to school to be a chef? How long do you need to go to school? What skills do you need to have to become a cook? What are your duties? When do you have to come to work? When does your working day finish? Who washes all these dishes? Do you know how to do anything else besides cooking? Is it hard to be a cook? Why do you like your job? ...
These were just some of the questions.
The cooks showed us the process of making cakes and we could not wait to try by ourselves.
It was time to organize ourselves and start working. We shaped the cakes, put the cream on them, decorated them and put them on a tray.
Finally, we had to wash the dishes and clean up.
After hard work, we deserved a break, so we sat down and enjoyed the cakes we made.
How sweet and tasty!
One more part of our Unit of Inquiry – People choose different jobs within their communities – well done. We learnt a lot of new things.
Maybe some PYP 2 students change their opinions about their future professions. Hmm… You never know.
